Plus, it's a great way to explore the area and enjoy some time outdoors. Many of these run until the fall, which is when local produce is at its best. Although over 30 farmers' markets are in the Charlotte area, these vendors offer more products than fruits and vegetables. In addition to cheese and bread, shoppers can also find various other items at these markets - so there is truly something for everyone at these markets around Charlotte.
Charlotte Regional Farmers Market
One of the four state-owned farmers markets in North Carolina, the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market features a variety of fruits and vegetables, dairy products, and meat. It’s located in a five-building complex. Besides food, you can also find crafts and other retail goods.
The Kings Drive Farmers Market was established by the Simpson family in 1941. It features a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and other local products. Stop by to pick up a Christmas tree or a pumpkin during the holiday season.
The Mint Hill Farmers Market is a unique place that's also a historical site. This market is located in the McEwen Historical Village, and it features a variety of local food and home goods.
The market is held in Mount Holly, and it features farm products that come from 75 miles away. It does not accept produce that's out of season, ensuring that the freshest ingredients are available. In addition to local artisans and food trucks, the market features live music and cooking demonstrations.
The Uptown Farmers Market is a non-profit organization that aims to provide residents with fresh, local food and educate them about healthy eating. It also supports local producers and helps address food insecurity in Uptown. It takes place every week in the parking lot of the First Baptist Church.
